Synopsis:

On the eve of her birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician.

Now, following his death she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her fathers who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind.

Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all;

How much of her father’s madness, or genius will she inherit?

Characters:

Catherine: (25-40)

Inherits much of her father’s mathematical genius and she fears, his instabilities as well. She gave up her life and schooling to take care of her father until his recent death.
Troubled, confused and volatile

Hal: (age 25-40)
A former student of the Professor. Interested in finding valuable work in notebooks left behind.
Has a romantic interlude with Catherine.

Claire: (age 30-40)
Catherine’s older sister, a practical and business minded woman who has been comfortably successful in her work and relationships. She left the family home to make a new life in new York.
